The Author
Nitya Ravi was born in Kollam district of Kerala, the elder daughter of Pillai Raveendran Velayudhan and Vanaja Ravi. Her family home is in Prakkulam, a village on the shoreline of the heavenly Ashtamudi Lake. She moved to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, when she was 3 years old and spend her entire childhood there other than during the Gulf War when she, her younger brother Nishant and mother returned to Kollam for a year.
She attended university in India for her Bachelor’s degree in engineering. After this, she returned to Dubai to take up a job in IT sales and marketing and has worked in some great companies like Microsoft, Siemens, Ingram Micro, and other leading local companies in the field of ICT.
Her passion, however, has always been and is in writing and storytelling. In 2019, she followed that passion and published her first book of short stories – ‘What the Eyes See’, a book of 7 short dark stories. In a market saturated with love stories and mythology, she took a leap of faith to publish in what she considers her ‘favorite genre’. Inspired by good feedback especially from readers in India and around 10000 copies sold, she decided to take the next big move and published her second book which is a psychological thriller – ‘The Woman Within’, in 2022. The book received positive reviews with many praising it for its suspense and mind-boggling twist.
Nitya is currently working on her third book.
